SQUISHY YUMMY BEAUTIFUL
LOCAL NEW ZEALAND YARNS
This listing is for two skeins of CHOCKA to make the amazing Wicker hat & Wickerwork Cowl by Steph from Handmade by SMINÉ.
CHOCKA is an 80/20 Corriedale Silk DK and has both the softness and structure to work as a cowl and hat duo. Choose your colour and purchase your yarn here (I have loaded colourway recommendations for this pattern-speckles would look amazing), then pop over to the pattern page COWL and HAT to purchase/download these wonderful patterns.
SO much squish! The fabric this stitch creates is luxurious and double-thick making a warm and comfortable that is still lightweight and airy due to its structure. Wicker is best with a semi-solid or lightly speckled yarn. This is a cable stitch, but a tutorial has been included to show you how to work it without using a separate cable needle if you wish - a great time-saver.
This beanie makes a matched set with WICKERWORK cowl and just 2 x100g skeins of DK will be enough to make both pieces. When making the set, knit the beanie first as its yardage is fixed; the cowl will use up all the remaining yarn.

Poetic, rich colour on sumptuous non-superwash New Zealand yarns: Merino, Corriedale, Merino-Cross, Romney, from the grower to the mill to the dyer - connect your final object back to it’s origin & incorporate the story of the yarn into your own. This is our definition of luxury.
Yarn is the best. It makes the stores who sell it, and the people who buy it happy. It’s sustainable, and supports hard working people in smaller communities trying to slow things down while the world speeds up. All around it’s an amazing, natural product.
Prosper Yarn is small, local, ethical, and socially minded. We use New Zealand grown and milled yarn bases. We do not support mulesing. We use as little fresh water as possible, and fully exhaust our locally mixed professional acid dyes.
Prosper does not use Super Wash yarn bases.
